Armenian Dessert Recipe (Gurabia)

Easy Recipe from Armenia (Gurabia)

Makes about 4 dozen

Ingredients:

-1 Pound unsalted butter
-2 Cups Confectioners Sugar
-3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
-Shelled Pistachio Nuts for Decorating

Instructions:

-Pre-heat the oven to 300 F. degrees.

-Soften the butter and cream well with the confectioners sugar.

-Gradually add the flour and knead/mix until all the ingredients are well

-incorporated and the dough is soft and pliable.

-Take about a walnut-sized piece of the dough and roll into a cigar shape
(about ½ inch in diameter).

-GENTLY curve the (cigar) around, to form a circle and place on the cookie sheet.

-As the cookies tend to expand during baking, place about an inch apart on the sheet.

-At the place where the two ends of the roll meet, place a pistachio nut.

-Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cookies are showing some color around the edges, but have NOT yet browned.

Afghan Dessert, Khatai Cookies

Khatai cookies from Afghanistan

Ingredients:

-1 1/2 cups White Flour

-1 cup Sugar

-3/4 cup Corn Oil

-1 tablespoon crushed Cardamon

-Pistachios


Directions:

-Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

-Mix the white flour with the sugar, and crushed cardamon.

-Next, add the corn oil and mix well.

-Make the dough into two inch round balls and put them on a cookie sheet

and bake for 15min, or until lightly browned.

-Sprinkle finely ground pistachios on top of the cookies while they are still hot.

Albanian Dessert (Kadaif)


Albanian dessert, khadif

Ingredient:

-Shredded Wheat
-Ground Walnuts
-Sugar
-Melted Butter

-Syrup:

-1 cup sugar
-1 cup water
-Cinnamon to taste

Directions:

-Separate shredded wheat squares into halves.
-Arrange halves on bottom of medium size ungreased deep baking pan.
-Sprinkle the ground walnuts and sugar over halves, pour melted butter sparingly over them.
-Cover with other halves of shredded wheat.
-Bake at 20 minutes at 325°.
-Cool.

Prepare syrup:

-Boil the sugar, water and cinnamon about 5 minutes and pour hot over cooled shreddies and let soak until completely absorbed.
-Serve with whipped cream on top.

Have you ever wonder what others eat?

On diner table with a family of 5, conversation came up that what others are having for dinner?

I'm not sure about you but when we were going for grocery shopping every time we had the same items over and over, until kids start noticing and complaining and wanting something new.

Joy of cooking was a choir for me and my wife, but now it is a JOY.

Why not try to cook something from other countries? (My oldest daughter, she is 14.)

So we came up with few recipes and yes there are really great dinner ideas or simple soup and salad recipes out there that you can find the ingredient in your local stores or even in your kitchen. Just how you are going to add it together.

Make the story short, Now enjoying our meals and we have something new to talk about every time when we sit on dinner table or we have company.

So our website was born AllEasyWorld.com to keep our records and recipes together, and why not share with other people.
